One day workshop on tobacco control held

Jammu, Apr 29: India is at No. 3 in the production of Tobacco products and 2nd as Consumer in Tobacco products in whole of the world Jammu and Kashmir has high incidence of smoking and J&K is also, becoming the Lung Cancer Capital of India due to increased smoking prevalence across all the section of the society stated Dr N C Prabhakar during one day workshop at Jammu.
Kiran Watal Commissioner Jammu Municipal Cor-poration was the Chief Guest and. Kapil Sharma Joint Commissioner Administration Jammu Municipal Corporation presided over the function.
He further added that in J&K more than 2.3 million people use Tobacco out of which 21.9% use Tobacco in smoking form.
And 8 Lacs die untimely death due to serious Tobacco related diseases.
Lastly Dr. N. C. Prabharkar thanks the -participant and the speaker for attending the said workshop.
