| BJP trying to foment religious travel in Ladakh: PCC | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 29: Lashing out at Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) for its attempts to foment religion and religious travel in the sensitive Ladakh region, the Chief Spokesperson Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) and MLC Ravinder Sharma said that the saffron party is indulging in vested political interests but would miserably fail in its game plan. In a statement, Sharma said that people of Ladakh region are fully aware of the political game plan of BJP and its hollow slogans to vitiate the political atmosphere by distortion and misrepresentation of facts about the initiatives of Congress party and its leaders for the political and other development of Ladakh region. He said that whatever political rights and development have been witnessed by Ladakh region is mainly because of the Congress led government at the centre from time to time and the coalition government in the state but BJP has certainly no contribution towards the upliftment of Ladakh region and its people. He said that opportunistic approach of BJP and its opportunist leaders to mislead the electorates of Ladakh region about the contribution of Congress party and its leaders would not be tolerated by the people of Ladakh who are thankful to Congress party and coalition government for the initiatives in various fronts for their welfare and well being. He said that the entire leadership of Congress party at the centre and the state has taken personal interest for the overall welfare and the development of this region. Sharma said that leaders like Ghulam Nabi Azad and representatives from Ladakh Rigzin Zora as well as veteran Congress leader from Ladakh T. Samphel have contributed a lot in these initiatives for the faster development of this backward region. He asked BJP to desist from opportunist approach merely for vote bank politics in view of the locational sensitivity and political fragilities of this region. |
