| Administration distributes tents among affected families | | Kishtwar nature fury | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 25: A team of District Administration Kishtwar led by Tehsildar Kishtwar Falail Singh today rushed to four affected villages of District Kishtwar including Dadkan, Phirgham, Ajjana and Pullar where the nature furry forced over 150 families comprised of nearly 500 souls to flee to safer places after landslides and shooting stones triggered from adjacent hill Phogola top since yesterday. While talking to "Early Times" Tehsildar Kishtwar said that after reaching the affected villages, they assessed the prevailing situation. He said that during preliminary asesment of the spot, the threat to the village has been found serious in nature and added that that the cracks in the mountains are clearly visible posing threat to the populated area. He said that there is a need to rush a special team to the affected area so that proper plan could be chalk out for the future strategy. He said that 15 tents were also distributed among the villagers who spent last night under open sky, besides a school building situated in safer area has also been thrown open for the people. Meanwhile, the affected people demanded sanction of 5 marlas each in favor of all the affected families so that they can build their own houses and also raised several other demands before the Tehsildar Kishtwar. Tehsildar Kishtwar after giving patience hearing to the villagers demands assured them that he will convey the message to Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar with regard to sanction of land for the affected families. Tehsildar was accompanied by Naib Tehsildar Dool and Patwari concern halqa. |
