| Panchayat Ghati residents lodge protest against PHE over water crisis | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, May 25 : To highlight the water crisis in the town, residents of the village Palel under the leadership of Sarpanch of Panchayat Ghati J P Singh, a massive protest demonstration was lodged against the PHE department.
With a population of over 1300 souls in village Palail which falls in Panchayat Ghati is still struggling for the regular supply of water.
An ex-service man namely Raj Kumar alleged that the 1300 people and hundreds of animals are suffering due to acute shortage of water in the town but despite promises from the concerned quarters the problem is still the same in the town.
The residents of the town also criticized the MLA, newly elected MPs and the PHE department in particular and appealed them to do justice with the suffering souls. As per Bimla Devi, a resident of the town, school children are forced to walk miles to avail water for the schools in the town. Sarpanch of the town appealed PHE Minister to sort this issue as soon as possible to avail the water supply to the town. |
