| Modi is 'real statesman', visionary: Kiran Bedi | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 27 : A day after Narendra Modi took over as 15th Prime Minister of the country, noted activist and country's first IPS lady officer Kiran Bedi today termed him as a 'real statesman' and visionary. " Modi is a real statesman and has far-sighted vision to take country on the path of development and progress," Ms Bedi told reporters at the sidelines of a function here. She however, lauded the Prime Minister of extending invitation to Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to attend his swearing-in ceremony and said that this gesture of his would definitely improve relations between the two nations. The former IPS officer was here in the town to launch special scholarship scheme for Jammu and Kashmir students to study at Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh. Bedi further said that the new Prime Minister will surely come upto the expectations of the people of the country. On Aam Admi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal, Bedi said he is wise enough to take decisions. She also hinted at joining the politics adding, "if I was offered an opportunity to serve the people, I would definitely consider it and will serve the nation and the people." Bedi earlier launched a special scholarship scheme for J&K students to study at Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh. She also launched a Toll Free Number 1800-30000-388 on which students could themselves get registered. |
