| Incorrect information provided under RTI Act | | Will SIC act against X En PWD (R&B) Bhaderwah? | | Bivek Mathur
JAMMU, May 27: In an attempt to mislead the information seeker and conceal vital information, Executive Engineer (X En) PWD (R&B) Bhaderwah AN Kundal provided incorrect information to some queries in reply to an RTI filed in Head office (PWD R&B) Jammu on 02-04-2014 which the Executive Engineer Bhaderwah received via letter number CEJ/G/117-37 Dtd: 2014.
In the RTI, this scribe had sought reply over the projects taken up by different divisions of PWD (R&B). The details of physical and financial progress report under Projectization schemes of BC Road Division Bhaderwah ending 03/2014 reads that 35 different construction works have been taken up in Bhaderwah city with an estimated cost of Rs. 7902.85 lakhs. The amount released for the year 2013-14 for the construction of these 35 roads was shown 204.00 lakhs and the expenditure during the same year i.e. 2013-14 ending 03/2014 was again shown as 204.00 lakhs which in fact is incorrect as studying the Annexure C where details have been provided, it comes to fore that the exact amount incurred on these projects was only Rs. 193.02 lakhs.
Further, as far as construction of 26 different bridges in the town including new steel foot-over bridges and replacement of wooden structures with the new steel bridges is concerned, the reply reads that the PWD (R&B) is yet to complete the proposed physical targets set for the year 2011-12, 2012-13 and the current year i.e. 2013-14 respectively due to different reasons including deferring of projects, transfer of projects to other executing companies after failure of PWD (R&B) to execute these projects and in some cases the works are yet to be allotted.
The information based on half truths and lies indicates that there is an attempt on part of the PIO to conceal vital facts rather than reveal the relevant information. |
