| Talk of revocation of Article 370 not just ill informed, it's irresponsible: Omar | | | ET Report
SRINAGAR, May 27: J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today said Art 370 is the only constitutional link between J&K & rest of India. Talk of revocation is not just ill informed it's irresponsible.
Omar made these observations while reacting sharply to the maiden interaction of newly appointed MoS PMO, Jitendra Singh.
After assuming charge of office in the National capital Dr Singh had claimed that the govt was in a process of repealing Article 370
"We are in the process of repealing Article 370 and are in talks with the stakeholders," Dr Jitendra told a news channel.
"Article 370 is more like a psychological barrier", he added
Jitendra had earlier told a Delhi based news agency that the Government was open to debate on Article 370.
Article 370 of Indian constitution gives a special status to the Jammu and Kashmir.
In a series of tweets Omar today evening wrote on the micro blogging site claiming," So the new MOS PMO says process/discussions to revoke Art 370 have started. Wow, that was a quick beginning. Not sure who is talking".
Omar also said, "Mark my words and save this tweet - long after Modi Govt is a distant memory either J&K won't be part of India or Art 370 will still exist". |
