Jammu, May 27 : The hot weather condition continued as the temperature has started rising in this winter capital of the state. In Jammu the temperature presently is recorded between 36 to 37.5 degree Celsius. "The maximum temperature was today recorded 37.8 Degree Celsius and minimum was 23 Degree Celsius," a MeT Section official said adding that in the coming days, the temperature will rise and fluctuate between 35 Degree Celsius to 40 degree Celsius. In view of soaring mercury, people preferred to stay indoors and roads wore deserted look. Today being the occasion of Shab-e-Miraj, people of Jammu visited the hilly stations like Patnitop, Sanasar, Kud to get respite from the hot weather condition. Reports from Katra-the base camp of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Cave Shrine, said heavy rush of pilgrims is being witnessed in the town as people from across the country are visiting to pay obeisance at the cave shrine. On May 1, Jammu recorded season's maximum 40.3 degree Celsius temperature. |
