Is NC really worried for repeal of Art 370?

SRINAGAR, May 30: Te news papers are flooded with reports on abrogation of the article 370 with the National Conference taking lead in making the frequent statements relevant to this issue. This party claims itself as the sole custodian of the article 370 to derive maximum before the coming assembly elections.
Now National Conference, once the premier regional party is waiting for the miracles to happen and that is why it is issuing annoying statements, day in and day out. They want to capitalize on the issues like article 370 so as to make themselves be felt around.
But unfortunately all its efforts are seemingly going in vain as it has failed to garner public support which is in denial mood. As majority of the parties, national as well as the regional ones, have advocated not to abrogate the article 370, thus denying political mileage to NC, leaving it high and dry.
The elected parliamentary member from the Udhampur, Doctor Jitender Sing in his maiden statement, wherein he said that the first job of the Modi lead government would be to abrogate the article 370 and according to him, process related to this issue has already been initiated.
As most of the parties have advocated not to touch the article 370, the concerns of the NC are nothing but political gimmicks. It is no problem for the party leaders when things are under their control and whenever they sense trouble they use it as the poll plank.
"Whether article 370 will be abrogated or not, is not the real concern for the party. What really concerns the party leaders is that people's Democratic Party has tightened grip as for as the political scenario of Jammu and Kashmir is concerned. Now the tricks of the NC are not going to work as the people of the state have decided not to stick to the traditional politics," said some people at Srinagar.
These people went on saying that that the NC president, Doctor Farooq Abdullah has always maintained that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of the union of India. At the same time he says that nobody will be allowed to abrogate the article 370. This all, according to these people, depicts that NC is passing through the toughest of the times.
Another group of the people at Budgam while talking to EARLY TIMES said "Actually it is the wrong doings of National Conference which has crashed it to the ground. When the leaders of the party fail to find the reasons behind their debacle, they use AFSPA and article 370 as excuses,"
These went on saying that National Conference is driven by the interests and compulsions not by the priorities which have proved to be fatal for the party. If one goes by the history, NC had sown the seeds of hate during infamous 1987 assembly elections, denying the people of the state to go for a change.
