Jalandhar, June 3: The placement process for the graduating batch of the Lovely Professional University has been successfully completed with students being placed across various sectors and functions of their choice. This year more than 150 top global and Indian super brand recruited LPU students taking the total number of recruiters to more than 300. Though companies from multiple sectors including consultancy, banking, finance, engineering, fashion, e-commerce and many have recruited LPU students but the top sector to recruit largest number of students remained IT. In terms of number of offers, IT giant Cognizant was the top recruiter across all the sectors and clusters. It recruited 939 students from LPU campus in this session alone. As a part of the corporate social responsibility, LPU also invited many of the students from other colleges and universities to participate in the LPU campus placement drives. The second biggest recruiter remained HCL which recruited 98 LPU students in a single placement drive. Sharing about the coveted placements of the students, LPU Chancellor Ashok Mittal said: "This year our students were also offered international placements by top companies including Adnani Wilmar of US and Al Rakha from Dubai. The successful completion of the recruitment cycle for the batch graduating in 2014 is a strong testament to the high quality of students at the university and the robust nature of the placement process that provides adequate flexibility to both students and recruiters." The costs to company packages offered are up to nine lakh per annum. Most of the students have been offered location of service in top metros including New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, and Hyderabad. Illustrative, major companies which recruited LPU students include L & T Infotech, Godfery Philips, Hewlett Packard, HT Media, IBM India, Blue Dart, Ceasefire, CRYO Bank International, Cummins India, Ericsson India Global services, Eureka Forbes, Flip-kart, Amdocs , AON Hewitt, Ranbaxy Laboratory, Royal Bank of Scotland, Tata Consultancy Services, Tommy Hilfiger, Vardhman Poly, Vodafone (Punjab), Asahi India, Asian Paints, Idea cellular, Ind Swift Labs, Indian Navy, Life cell International, Acro-petal technologies, Snapdeal.com, Arvind Life Style, Madura Fashion & Life Style and more.
