SRINAGAR, June 3: In a desperate bid to outsmart Congress and seek all accredit ahead of the State Cabinet meet scheduled to be held today, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah promised a bonanza for the over four lakh employees of the state, enhancing age of superannuation, upper age limit for recruitment in Government service and regularization of need base employees within one month, While assuring positive outcome over long pending demands of employees which include enhancement retirement age from 58 to 60 years and the upper age limit for recruitment in Government jobs from 37 to 40 years, Chief Minister also announced one month deadline for finalizing the regularization of need base employees whose cases are pending in Finance Department.
"I will strongly advocate the enhancement of age issue in the Cabinet and make sure that it is approved to the best satisfaction of the employees," Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah said.
Omar Abdullah also constituted a committee comprising of Chief Secretary, Mohammad Iqbal Khanday, Principal Secretary, BB Vyas and Secretary General Administration Department, Mohammad Ashraf Bukhari to study the demands of the employees outside the ambit of Finance Department for finalizing and reporting with its recommendations in a one month's period.
"I will personally monitor the functioning of this Committee and all other issues pertaining to the welfare of employees and talk to representatives of employees myself without any mediators, we will be meeting in every month here in the Banquet Hall to sort-out issues and cement the relations between the Government and its employees," Chief Minister said.
The Chief Minister fixed a deadline of one month for the Finance Department to finalize the recommendations on casual employees and assured the representatives of employees that employees shall be provided 6th Pay Commission benefits, its arrears and host of other facilities to improve their conditions, besides his Government is also ready to sort out all pending issues with employees in a friendly and amicable atmosphere.
Chief Minister also directed the Chief Secretary along with Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and Secretary General Administration Department to take action for withdrawing all cases pending against agitating employees under ESMO and added that he has already given orders for withdrawal of dies-non against agitating employees. While justifying his favours for employees, Omar Abdullah said that enhancement in retirement age will have no effect on recruitment of youth as the Government will continue the recruitment process to fill up the vacant posts in different Government departments.
Earlier today the President EJAC, Abdul Qayoom Wani and its Convenor, Rouf Ahmad in their speeches expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for his keen attitude for redressal of all grievances of the employees pending over the years.
