Early Times Reports Jammu, June 20: In the wake of the "International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit trafficking" on June 26, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Jammu zone continuing its intuitive to create awareness among general masses about drugs and their ill effects organized an awareness programme on "Abuse and Illicit trafficking of Drugs' at CRPF Group Centre, Bantalab. According to NCB spokesperson, in continuation of efforts inculcating the ill effects of drug menace in the society, Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Jammu organized a Drug Awareness Programme for CRPF Officers, Jawans and their families at Group Centre, Bantalab. "The message against Drug Abuse and illicit trafficking was delivered in a unique manner i.e. through a NukkadNatak performed by the artists of NavDurga Kala Manch, Jammu, he added. During the programme , DIG CRPF, Arun Kumar addressed the gathering and apprised them about the menace of drug abuse. At the onset of programmeManoj Kumar, Zonal Director NCB Jammu briefed the gathering regarding the steps being taken by the agency to curb the menace of drug abuse in Jammu and Kashmir. He also spoke on the theme of this year "Make Health Your new high in life, Not Drugs" released by United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) to mark occasion of 26th June being observed as "Anti Drug Day". DrGurmeetKour, Registrar, Govt Psychiatry Hospital Jammu also addressed the gathering about stress management and advised the participants how to coup up with the problem of stress and drug abuse. |
