| Jawan hurt in landmine explosion, anti-personal mine found | | | Early Times Reports Jammu, June 20: A jawan got injured in landmine explosion while anti-tank mine was found along the international border across Jammu region. "A jawan sustained injuries when he inadvertently stepped over a landmine along the Line of Control this morning in Saujiyan area of Poonch," official sources here said. They said that the jawan was on routine patrolling. "The jawan was immediately shifted to the Brigade Hospital Srinagar while his condition was stated to be stable," said sources. Meanwhile in a separate incident, anti-personnel mine was recovered this afternoon in a field near forward Regal Border Outpost in village Rajpura of Samba district. "The mine was noticed by a local farmer Swarn Singh, while grazing cattle," police sources said adding that he informed the troops of 9 Battalion of BSF and they acted swiftly and seized the mine. "The mine was taken to an isolated place and was diffused by the experts on the spot," they said |
