| JKRF criticizes govt for inclusion of 38 villages into backward area | | | Early Times Report Rajouri, June 20: Jammu and Kashmir RBA Forum (JKRF) has strongly criticized inclusion of 38 forward area villages into the backward area list and termed anti-people decision of government and demanded enhancing reservation from 20 to 32 percent. In a press statement, State President of Forum, Zakir Malik Bhallesi said that state Cabinet which met on Thursdayunder the Chairmanship of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, accorded sanction to the inclusion of 38 villages of different districts in the list of backward areas which is cruel joke to the people of backward areas. He said that government has accepted its failure of not developing backward areas which forced them to make forward villages the backward one. He said that this is dangerous decision for RBA people because government is adding the number of people and not enhancing the reservation. He said that Forum is not opposing the villages which were added but opposing the move of government for not enhancing reservation percentage. He further said that selection of these villages is influenced by politics and all the included villages are politically motivated as many villages which deserve RBA were not given the same. He said that Forum is not against inclusion of new villages but it has taken up the matter with government that when government is adding more people to capacity of 20 people room, there is need to increase the capacity but government is nit increasing reservation quota of RBA and is only increasing number of villages which is shocking. |
