| NASA- First Council Meet '2014 inaugurated at School of Architecture SMVDU | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 20: NASA- National Association of Students of Architecture (NASA) - a student body of undergraduate students of Architecture colleges in the country framed with an objective to provide the students a common platform for interaction at Zonal and National level conventions every year and in a similar initiative Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) hosted 57th council meet of association in its premises. According to SMVDU spokesperson, the School of Architecture & Landscape Design (SALD) of university got the chance to host the 57th Council Meet of the Association. "This meet is a three days event (20-22' June'2014) being attended by more than 200 representatives of various Architecture colleges across India, he added. Vice-Chancellor, SMVDU Prof S K Jain who inaugurated the meet today in his inaugural address emphasized upon the regular extension of creativity skills of budding Architects. "These budding Architects can shape the Indian cities in an unprecedented manner as some of the leading towns of the world. He wished the student delegates for their comfortable stay and successful learning over the next three days at SMVDU, he added. He also applauded the efforts done by host students particularly NASA Unit Secretary of SALD, Bacil M. George, a third year Architecture student. Officiating Director, SALD AR Abhiney Gupta in his welcome address expressed his gratitude towards Vice-Chancellor, SMVDU primarily, Registrar SMVDU, Ajay Khajuria and Finance Officer SMVDU, Rohit Khajuria for being supportive in facilitating to conduct such a large-scale event. Inaugural function included the launch of NASA India's official website by NASA President Waqar Abid and Vice-President Uppal Suneja in the presence of Secretary Dileep Reddy, Advisor Vivek Venkateshappa and Treasurer Murari Kumar Raja. Further, NASA official newsletter 'Thoughts/ Papers/ Scissors June 2014- Transformation Phase' was released by Vice-Chancellor, SMVDU. NASA India also proposed to incorporate Architectural case-studies in their official website as a database for Architecture students. |
