| NMC urges for 7% DA announcement | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 3: The National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) today asked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to announce the pending installment of 7% D.A due from 1, July 2014 this year in favour of the employees and pensioners of central as well as the state government in view of increasing inflation and price hike of essential commodities. NMC urged to take steps in this regard during the next Cabinet meeting of the government.In a memorandum and communiqué sent to Narendra Modi, president NMC, Subash Shastri furnishing facts and figures stated that price index which was 5.89% in December 31, 2014 now has increased to 10.59 percent in June 30, 2014. He said that the rate of compensation was revised over six month one in January and in July every year based on average of the consumer price index for previous months. NMC said the salaried class was facing lot of economic hardship due to high inflation and price rise and the release of DA will be a genuine measure to provide some relief to them.He also urged Prime Minister of India to declare Jammu and Srinagar as B-1 cities of state to both capital cities would ensure more flow of funds for upgrading infrastructures and modernizing civic amenities of these fast expanding cities. He also pleaded for sanctioning RS five thousand crores as special package to the state to meet the expenditure of regularization of casual need base, seasonal labourers Adhoc and contractual working in the various departments of the State Govt. Shastri also requested MoS-PMO Dr Jitendra Singh to personally intervene into the matter and grant this package at the earliest. |
