| Desperate for a comeback Omar woos Govt employees | | Will it help any way? | | Shakeel A Khan
SRINAGAR, July 3 : Omar Abdullah seems under a mistaken notion that giving packages to employees will help him stage a comeback on the political firmament of the state. & company seems to be misled that by announcing pro- employees packages it is going to win the The decision to enhance the retirement age of the employees by two years and giving service benefits to Re Ts are the politically motivated moves in nature than any real consideration for the employees. These moves are cosmetic in nature aimed at the damage control. People of the state say that they are conscious about as to what happened during the NC governments or the NC led governments. As per the people, oppression touched all the possible heights as no concession was given to the innocents, aged or young. "Where were these people when the Machil fake encounter took place? Minors like Wamiq and Tufail fell to bullets, for what reasons, these people ask. Then one violence bred violence and many precious lives were lost on account of these violence. All this happened because of the wrong policies of the National Conference," said Abdul Razak from Srinagar while talking to Early Times. Razak argues that Omar Abdullah isn't the well wisher of the people which he claims day in and day out. As per Razak Omar should have resigned much before on moral grounds by taking the responsibility of the killings of the innocents since he is in the highest seat of power. A group of people which was talked to by the Early Times said that the National Conference on one day say that the man who attacked the parliament has got the punishment he deserved. But, as according to these people, when the party tasted the defeat in the parliamentary elections, NC leaders didn't shy and were quick to add that the 2010 unrest and the hanging of Afzal Guru proved costly for the party and that is why it lost the parliamentary elections. "People haven't forgotten the statement of the Senior Abdullah wherein he labeled the people of the valley as the 'Maha Chor'. The party leaders called Haji Yusuf 'Crook' who had devoted all his life to the party," said a group of people while sharing their ideas with the Early Times. These people went on saying that the sincerity of Omar Abdullah can be gauged from the fact that in one of the election rallies for the parliamentary elections in Baramulla, minister for higher education, Mohammad Akber lone slapped on the face of a poor man, in full public view and in front of Omar Abdullah and he watched all this silently. These people say that it was a slap on the faces of all the subjects of the state. As per these people, it is the ill attitude of the National Conference leaders and not the problems of the employees which has endangered their existence. |
