| Rajouri police arrests cheater | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, July 3: In a major success Rajouri Police have arrested a cheat within 10 days of occurrence of crime and recovered Rs2.35 lacs which he had withdraw fraudulently from the account of one Prithvi Raj after replacing his ATM card. SP Rajouri Mubassir Latifi said that on July 1, Prithvi Raj son of Shiv Ram resident of Dhangri lodged a complaint at Police Station Rajouri that he visited SBI Bank ATM Jawahar Nagar on May 22, 2014 for withdrawal of money. But having poor information about how to operate ATM he sought the help of a person present in the ATM Cabin for withdrawal of Rs. 2000/-. However, during this process said person changed his ATM card with his own card and later fraudulently withdrew Rs. 2.35 lakh from his account. In this connection a case FIR No. 338/2014 U/S 420/380 RPC was registered in P/S Rajouri. Acting on the complaint, Police team, headed by Inspector Yash Paul Singh, SHO, Police Station Rajouri started investigation in a professional manner and on the basis of available information and CCTV footage succeeded in arresting the accused who was identified as Mohd Rafiq son of Mohd Shafi resident of Rehan Tehsil Koteranka and recovered the total stolen amount from his possession. SP Rajouri Mubassir Latifi said that Police was looking for this notorious cheat since long as numbers of such cases have been reported in the past also. He said that this notorious cheat who happens to be a Diploma Engineer presently working in Rajouri, would be interrogated thoroughly to find out whether he was deceiving the public alone or he is part of any bigger organized group. |
