| Four months imprisonment, fine awarded to bovine smuggler | | | Early Times Report
Samba, Aug 2: A local court today sentences four months imprisonment and fine to a bovine smuggler facing trial for commission of crime under sections 279/188 RPC, 2/3 PCA Act and 3/181 MV Act in case FIR No. 34/2014 of P/S Samba. The case was professionally investigated by SI Rajeshwar Singh, Incharge PP SIDCO who was the Investigating Officer of the said case and pleaded in the Court by Raj Kumar, Sr Prosecuting Officer Samba under the overall supervision of Anil Magotra, Sr Superintendent of Police, Samba. After hearing both sides Manzoor Hussain, JMIC Samba sentenced four months imprisonment with fine to one Mohd Mansha s/o Noor Ali, (47) of Nagrota Bye Pass, Jammu for commission of crime under sections 279/188 RPC, 2/3 PCA Act and 3/181 M.V. Act in case FIR No. 34/2014 of P/S Samba and presently been lodged in Sub-Jail Hiranagar for execution of sentence. According to case on 24/02/.2014, load carrier Mahindra-207 bearing Regd no JK02AC-9078 driven by above said accused from Kathua was signaled to stop by the Naka Party at SIDCO Chowk, Samba but the vehicle jumped the Naka and tried to escape taking turn towards Mansar. However it lost its balance and turned turtle. Naka party while chasing the vehicle reached there and rescued 07 bovine animals which were mercilessly tied in the vehicle, case said. Accordingly, the vehicle was seized and Case FIR No. 34/2014 u/s 279/188 RPC, 2/3 PCA Act was registered with P/S Samba. |
