jammu, Aug 2: Revolt in Jammu BJP camp came to fore with BJP's Jammu camp as Revolt took place in the BJP's Jammu camp with Yogesh Sharma announcing to contest from Rajouri as an independent candidate.
The attribution of the revolt goes to the former IGP Farooq Khan who allegedly stated to be the person behind the curtain.
Yogesh Sharma, who claimed to be the candidate for the mandate, revolted against the BJP party and even threatened to go for election as an independent candidate if he was ignored at the behest of the former IGP who joined party recently. Yogesh Sharma a two time Sarpanch, who served BJP for three decades and was performing his duty as district president from Rajouri revolted when he reliably learnt that his candidature for Assembly elections was dropped and in his place the Congress shifted leader Choudhary Talib Hussain, who was shown thumb from NC party, considered for candidature on BJP seat from 83 Rajouri constituency segment.
"My name was very much in the panel which was later dropped", Yogesh Sharma said. The core committee of the BJP from Jammu under the chairmanship of the Dr Nirmal Singh is looking after the panel which recommended the names for the candidates from BJP . The panel included MLA Ashok Khajuria, Shamsher Singh Manhas, Bali Bhagat, Ashok Koul, Kavinder Gupta besides other prominent leaders of the BJP.
It is further alleged that to execute the plan, the other BJP leader namely Vibodh who was also stated to be strong contender of BJP was given the lollypop in the shape of the berth as a member in Railway Board.
Sources in BJP said that earlier Vibodh retaliated for the move but later on sensing no other option gave his consent for the proposal. Sources further said that Vibodh, is however, made subject of certain conditions which including motivating the Hindu votes for BJP. The conditions were made to counter the Yogesh Sharma who blew bugle as an Independent candidate.
Bhartiya Janta Party Organizing Secretary, Ashok Koul, when contacted rubbished the claim to be as a hollow charges leveled against the responsible party members and leaders.
"There is no truth in these claims and are attempt mooted by the forces inimical to tarnish the image of the party which is growing stronger day by day," said Ashok Koul.
While as Farooq Khan did not respond the phone call made to him for his comment over his alleged role which created ripples in the BJP camp in Jammu, MLA Ashok Khajuria when contacted said that he was unaware of the move by Yogesh Sharma and sought some time from correspondent to get update.
