| Two falsely implicated Kashmiri youth spill beans in their statements | | Arrest of encounter specialist cop was a conspiracy? | | Asif Iqbal Naik
Kishtwar, Aug 2: In a statement recorded U/S 164 Cr.Pc by two Kashmiri youths who were portrayed as victims by Doda police in case involving Doda encounter specialist Cop Shiv Krishan Sharma alias Sonu, released on bail by the court of Principal District and Sessions Judge Bhaderwah couple of days ago made a stunning revelation with regard to framing of encounter specialist cop in false and fabricated case of planning to eliminate two Kashmiri youth Muzaffar Ahmed and Shahbaz Ahmed Butt in an encounter by portraying them as militants.
After the revelation made by the two Kashmiri youth Muzaffar Ahmed son of Mohammad Khazir Sheikh resident of Pulwama and Shahbaz Ahmed Bhat son of Abdul Hamid Butt resident of Palkipura Pulwama before the Principal District and Sessions Judge Bhaderwah, the case involving Sonu got murkier and nailed the Investigating Officer for his role in hatching a conspiracy against the cop who had eliminated over 150 top militants during his over 15 year service in Police department during which he (Sonu) even lost his one eye and a leg and was awarded with several prestigious state and national medals.
As per the statement recorded by 21 year old Shahbaz Butt before the Principal District and Sessions Judge Bhaderwah on 21-05-2014, the copy of which is available with "Early Times", he did not know any of the accused including Sonu, his Personal Security Officer Mohammad Ayoob and others. He said that it was a year ago when he (Shahbaz) along with Muzaffar Ahmed traveled to Kishtwar to pay obeisance at the local shrines and added that after returning from Kishtwar, Pulwama Police arrested both of them and inquired from them with regard to their journey. He said that they informed the Pulwama police that they both traveled to Kishtwar to pay obeisance at Kishtwar shrines. He further stated that after spending one or two night in lockup of Pulwama police station, both were released by the police. He said that after the gap of nearly one month, Doda police arrested them from Pulwama and shifted them to Doda police station. He said that at police station Doda, Hawaldar Javed and PO Sunil Kumar advised them to give the statement before the court as per their direction and threatened them that they will have to remain in police lockup if they did not do so.
He said after that Hawaldar Javed and PO produced them in the court where already drafted statement was readout by the judge before him and under the influence of threat from police; he consented to the already drafted statement. He said that both he and Muzaffar were arrested by the Pulwama police in connection with stone pelting case and added that he neither knows accused Arshad Hussain nor he knows Abdul Rashid son of Mohammad Iqbal resident of Tanta Thatri. He said that he had never seen any of them in past.
Similar statement was recorded by another victim Muzaffar Ahmed before the court of Principal District and Sessions Judge Bhaderwah in which he (Muzaffar) too blamed IO Javed and PO Sunil for drafting wrong statement on behalf of him and threatening him, however Muzaffar in his statement said that he knows Arshad's father very well, but knows little about Arshad. He also stated that he was arrested by the Pulwama police for his alleged involvement in stone pelting case and had no knowledge about this case.
As per police case, encounter specialist cop Shiv Krishan Sharma alias Sonu along with his Personal Security Officer (PSO) were having links with five militants arrested by the Doda police on 23-05-2013 for their involvement in grenade attack on Police Station Thatri, beside making an attempt to review the militancy in the area.
The arrest of encounter specialist cop Sub Inspector Shiv Krishan Sharma alias Sonu alias Robin-hood was made by Doda police on 04-06-2013 along with his PSO on the basis of false statement given by the arrested militant Abdul Rashid (27 yrs) alias Abdullah son of Mohammad Iqbal Hargah resident of Tanta who in order to save his skin during sustained questioning with Doda police put the blame on encounter specialist cop for giving him the weapon seized by the police from his possession for revival of militancy in the area. The PSO of the arrested cop was active in counter insurgency operations since last over 10 years and militants from time to time killed as many as eight members of his family for his links with security forces.
Abdullah, on whose statement Doda police nailed the top cop remained an active militant for few years before he surrendered in the year 2008 before the arrested cop. The sources said that the arrested militant was in close touch with another Doda based militant Khubar who happens to be his cousin and Pakistani commander Abu Akasha, both presently camping in Pakistan. The sources said that the mentors sitting across the border issued the direction to Abdullah to eliminate Sonu or to get him trapped in any false case. |
