Poor BSNL services irk subscribers of Kishtwar
Wimax services suspended from last 3 months, broadband too shaky

Kishtwar, Aug 2 : The poor services of government owned telecom providerBharat Sanchar Nigham Limited (BSNL) continues to haunt the people of Kishtwar district since last so many months causing lot of inconvenience to over 20000 BSNL subscriber in Kishtwar District. As per the details available with "Early Times", High Speed wireless internet service Wimax is suspended in the District since last three months while the Broadband services have also collapsed since last over one week. The BSNL costumers informed the "Early Times" that several customers approached different quarters in last three months for restoration of services in Kishtwar, but nothing was done till date.
"I have received billing massages from BSNL exactly in time for my two Wimax connections--- but the services are suspended from last three months and I did not understand that why should I pay the rent for the service when same is suspended in the District for last three months" said Gazanfar, Wimax internet subscriber. He said that he had approached everyone including TDM Udhampur, Executive Engineer BSNL Doda, SDE Kishtwar and several other quarters, but nothing was done and all these officials put blames on system.
Another Wimax customer, an employee in RDD said that department has failed to upload the required data with regard to the online entries of MGNREGA. "I had to travel to Doda which is 60 KM from Kishtwar for uploading MGNREGA Data--- it is very painful as due to poor services of BSNL, the work of the department suffered badly" said RDD employee wishing anonymity. Another government employee informed the "Early Times" that majority of the government departments depend on filing of online data and due to poor services of BSNL internet, the progress of the work suffered badly. Many customers allege that BSNL officials from top to bottom are hand in glove with private telecom companies and disturb the services to appease these private companies. They urged upon the Union Telecom Minister and local MP Dr. Jatinder Singh (MoS PMO) to conduct an inquiry into poor services of BSNL in state. The BSNL broad Band services are also suspended in the District for over one week .
"Early Times" contacted top BSNL officials including Private Secretary of Chief General Manager BSNL J&K, TDM Udhampur and other officials the previous month but nothing conclusive was done by these senior officials. "I have joined only two days ago--- give me two -three days, I will look into the problem and try to resolve them" told TDM Udhampur when contacted on 6-7-2014. Even after the lapse of nearly one month, TDM Udhampur failed to address the problem. Similar views were expressed by private secretary of CJM BSNL three weeks ago. The customers demanded immediate restoration of all BSNL services in Kishtwar and also demanded waiving off of three month rent in favour of of Wimax internet services and one month Broad band service subscribers.
