| Authorities not adhering to ad- interim relief: Contractual Lecturers | | | Jammu, Aug 2: The contractual lecturers engaged by the Higher Education Department today alleged that despite having obtained ad-interim direction from the High Court of Jammu the concerned authorities are not adhering to court directions.
According to spokesperson of the contractual lecturers, the High Court has granted ad-interim relief to candidates working in academic arrangement and Justice J R Kotwal, J&K High Court stayed the Communication number HE/Writ-Status-Quo/2014 dtd 26th June, 2014 issued by undersecretary to Govt., Higher Education Department addressed to respondent-05, the principal (Nodal) GGM Science College, Jammu where by the Govt (Higher Education Department while over reaching the jurisdiction of High Court for having the writ petitioners taken over the writ jurisdiction, has not adhered to the ad-interim directions dated 24th July 2012 had interpreted that writ petitioners arrangement as lecturers on contractual basis.
Although by virtue of ad-interim directions passed by humble High Court in number of writ petitions, the status of the applicants / writs petitioners as contractual lecturers in various degree colleges of Jammu province stands protected but unfortunately as a deliberate move, the writ petitioners /applicants are being verbally obstructed in making their attendance in arrival / departure registers and are further being restrained in conducting the classes, thereby violating the ad-interim directions as such the applicants/ writ petitioners are hence forth making their attendance in this college till further orders of termination are handed over by the Principal GGM Science College (Nodal Officer) Jammu. The contractual lecturers when contacted the commissioner secretary to Govt, from Higher Education Department flatly denied to have issued any order for discontinuance of contractual lecturers. |
