| Kounsernag clutter not with standing, Kapal Mochan Hawan gets under way on August 6 | | | Javaid Naikoo Srinagar, Aug 2 : At a time when Kounsarnag row has given birth to chaos and commotion across the state, the scheduled annual Hawan of migrated Kashmiri Pandits in South Kashmir's Shopian District is likely to begin from August 6 as per schedule. The three day Annual 'Hawan,Murti Sthapana and Shrawan Bah' in Historical temple at Devgam village in Shopian District which is scheduled to begin from August 6 according to the visiting pilgrims will go on as per programme and pandits living in different parts of India will converge from across the country. The migrant Kashmiri Pandits who have already reached Shopian in large numbers with their families said that they feel safe and secure in kashmir as compared to any other part of the world even today, however some vested interests who always play their political cards are unnecessarily making issues out of nothing and create problems for common masses including migrant Kashmiri Pandits who are bound by religious beliefs and practices to visit many parts of Kashmir often. The pilgrims while talking to Early Times said that though Kishtwar riots restricted pilgrims to visit this place on this special occasion, this year when environment is peaceful across the state and Kashmir is abuzz with tourists from across the world these days they expect people from different parts of the country to visit Kapal Mochan devgam Shopian from August 6 to participate in annual Hawan and other programmes scheduled after 6 August. According to the President District Shopian Temples and religious places, Vijay Shankar Lahori, all the arrangements have been made already in connection with the annual Hawan which include Free Langar and accommodation to the pilgrims visiting here on this occasion. While lashing at Tourism department, Lahori said that the reconstruction work around the Devgam temple is yet to be completed by the department .V.S Lahori said that though District administration Shopian has done its best to provide clean drinking water, first aid facility and security arrangements to the pilgrims on this ocassion, however the road which connects Devgam village with rest of Kashmir is still in shambles and needs macdamisation on priority bases so that people visting this places on this occasion can come and go without any delay and problems. |
