Jammu, Aug 2: Taking serious note of the alleged dereliction of duties by police personnel, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu today placed a Sub-Inspector (SI) posted in Police Station Satwari under suspension for alleged dereliction of duty following escaping of an accused.
According to sources, Gangyal police had arrested a snatcher and he was handed over to Satwari police for further questioning some days ago."Today he (accused) managed to escape from the custody of Satwari police", said police sources further adding, "identity of the escaped snatcher has been established as Ashwani Kumar alias Sunny of Tinda Khurd of Bishnah. "SSP Jammu, Uttam Chand when contacted said a Sub-Inspector Tufail has been placed under suspension for dereliction of duty while further investigation is on. Meanwhile a manhunt has been launched to nab the absconding accused. |
