| PC holds Govt responsible for recent Tulmulla violence, communal tension | | | SRINAGAR, Aug 2: People's Conference has today accused the NC led coalition government for recent Tulmulla episode and said the party was trying to disturb the situation for its vote politics. The Peoples Conference senior leader Mir Ghulam Rasool Butwari who visited Tulmulla today after meeting a cross section of people there said the recent episode which took place in this small township was result of NC's follies as the police tried to protect an activist who was related to a senior leader of the party. He criticised the government for mishandling the situation and taking the culprit inside Kheer Bhawani shrine knowing fully that this action would provoke the people. Mir said instead of dealing the situation with caution and respecting the sentiments of the protesting people, Government itself created a law and order problem at Tulmulla and forced the mob to come to streets. The attack on the gate of Hindu shrine was also result of Government's mishandling of the situation otherwise people of Tulmulla have always worked for strengthening the secular values and received the pilgrims of Mata Kheer Bhawani with open arms. Mir said the Government action forced the people to provocation as the police force did not spare the Imam of local mosque his children and other prominent people. The PC leader while assuring full support on behalf of Party Chief Sajjad Gani Lone to people of Tulmulla said the NC tried to avenge the people for not casting vote in favour of the Party in last Lok Sabha elections. He said PC is with the people of Tulmulla and it will never allow any Party to harm the age old secular traditions of the valley for which Kashmir has always set an example Mir said some forces within state for their vested interests are trying to harm the peoples interests and PC will stood a rode against them. Mir also asked union Government to fully study the situation in Kashmir fully and not to trust some traditional politicians who have spoiled everything in Kashmir just to remain in power. He said it was due to the wrong policies of the ruling parties in the state as well as centre that common Kashmiri has been distanced from the mainstream as he was always misled by these parties for their vote politics. The leaders of these parties looted the state over the years, created fortunes for themselves and left the people in lurch. He said present turmoil was the result of these policies of the politicians who ruled state since 1947. |
