| Present regime trying to create problems for next dispensation: Prof Gupta | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 2: Accusing the Coalition Government in state of trying to create problems for the next dispensation after coming polls, the former union minister and MLA, Prof Chaman Lal Gupta said that some new announcements and measures are being taken in a hurry so as to divert the attention of the people from the real problems caused due to mis-governance and failure to keep up the last election promises. Interacting with the activists of his Jammu West Assembly Constituency, Prof. Gupta said that the failure of this Coalition is very much glaring to the extent that chaotic conditions have been created all around. "There is crisis of electricity, drinking water and poor sanitation causing inconvenience to the masses but instead of taking remedial measures the highly controversial and misleading announcements are being made to hoodwink the public opinion, he added. In this regard, he pointed out the creation of 569 new administrative units, opening of five new medical colleges etc and wondered that are the funds for these new costly schemes. He said at least Rs 2000 Crores are required for infrastructure for the administrative units where as the conditions are already far from satisfactory for the existing administrative units. He also raised the issue of five new medical colleges that would require large amount for their raising where as the conditions of the already existing Government Medical Colleges is far from satisfactory. "The other health Institutions of the State are in a most bad shape to the extent that large number of health centers are in hired buildings,' he added. Prof Gupta further said the failure of the coalition is so much evident that the power losses have increased to an extent that 8 percent of the total budget is consumed to meet the loss. He also pointed out that during the past years the increased demand for energy is mounting but during the last 5 years the State on its own could not add in the power generation and it was hardly 20MW of power added indicating the meager press. "The failure on other fronts is no less apparent but the ruling leaders were indulging in exercise which would lead to more problems rather than solving anyone, he added. He asked the activists to explain to the people how this coalition has failed to deliver and the areas represented by the opposition have been deliberately discriminated and neglected. |
