JAMMU, Aug 3: Host Jammu and Kashmir lost their opening tie to Delhi in the 27th Junior (boys and girls) Atya Patya National championship which was declared open by Minister for Planning, Ajay Sadhotra at GGM Science College ground, here today. It was a close win for Delhi in inaugural league tie against J&K with final score on board being 14-12, 12-09. The three-day championship is organized by J&K Atya Patya Association under the aegis of Atya Patya Federation of India. Member Legislative Assembly, Dr Mustafa Kamal was guest of honour. Principal of GGM Science College, Dr. Nutan K Resotra was among other prominent present. Speaking to the participating teams and other distinguished gathering, Minister appreciated the organizers for introducing the game in the state. Earlier, president of the Association, Dr Vinod Bakshi and senior vice president, Wasim Raja as also general secretary, Ajay Sharma welcomed the Minister and special guests in the inaugural function. Also present were SM Bali, Satpal Lakotra, Arun Bali, Prof Davinder Kumar and Prof. Rajesh Gupta.
