JUGGLERS SHOW: Puppetry re-enacted; member DIGs penalized for raising objections, new incumbents fill 'old wine in new bottles'
Establishment Board for police transfers constituted on ET Report

Jammu, Aug 3: On the direction of the Police Head Quarters (PHQ), the Establishment Board for transferring of all rank officers/officials including Non Gazetted has been constituted. The board came into being following the Early Times report in its June 30 edition in which it was stated that a senior police officer was questioned in Prime Minister‘s Officer (PMO) over numerous laxities, including random transfers.
The purpose of the Board is to make transfers effective after recommendation of the Board members in which DIGs were prominent, but the same received dent soon after the first meeting of the board, held in Jammu recently. Highly placed sources informed that to make the transfers effective of the Non Gazatted Officers (NGOs), a meeting was held in Jammu during which the Board members expressed their resentment as in the transfers list there were some police officers who even did not complete their six months in their first posting.
But soon the senior police officers realized their fault of raising objections when they were told that they were eliminated out from the Establishment Board which was constituted for transferring purpose, instead, three new members have been included in their place. One of them is a DySP rank person, at present performing his duty as Section Officer (SO) to DIG rank person, the other two are staff officers of the senior police officer. In the new Establishment Board, it is also stated that a DIG rank person may be its members depending on his availability.
Sources further said that the list of transfers which was negated by the earlier members of the Board is expected to be make effective by the selective members of the new board. " In other words we may call old wine in new bottles", sources, maintained.
Pertinent to mention here that ET had reported that a senior police officer was questioned on the transfer policies by none else but the Prime Minister’s Office. The senior police officer was called to PMO, on the complaint of the BJP leaders from Jammu in which it was alleged that the police officers in Jammu, ignoring BJP are favouring the NC led Congress government.
