| Cong Ministers may join BJP to retain seats | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 3: If the latest political grapevine is to be believed some of the heavyweight Congress Ministers are also in touch with the BJP leaders in the state unit to explore the possibility of joining hands with them ahead of the Assembly elections.
In absence of any formal talks it is the rumour mill which is churning conspiracy theories targeting some of the Jammu based Ministers for their active role in Amarnath land row and flagging the issue of Administrative units forcefully in the State Cabinet meetings.
It is learnt some of these leaders are keen on retaining their seats and have factored in the overall influence of the Modi wave on the minds of electorate in Jammu region.
The outcome of the Lok Sabha results and the high percentage turn out of voters in both rural and urban areas have forced them to review their voter base if they wished to win the Assembly polls.
In the absence of bankable candidates in the BJP camp these Congress Minsters are ready to explore the possibility of joining the BJP camp to give voice to the cause of Jammu and romp home victoriously. Mass appeal of these Congress leaders may also force the state BJP leaders to selectively review their open option of joining the party and ensuring victory of BJP candidates to realise the mission 44 plus in the Assembly polls. |
