| Ashwani Sharma may join BJP | | List of candidates delayed by 15 days | | Sandeep Bhat. Jammu, Aug 3: The first list of probable BJP candidates which was supposed to be out on August 1 have been delayed by 15 days due to many reasons. Some say that the state unit has not reached any unanimous decision on probable candidates and there are many differences. As per party sources, Lal Singh who is joining BJP on August 12 is a big factor for delay. A big chunk of senior leaders in BJP is opposing the entry of outsiders in the party but those who are entering it have the blessing of central leadership. Another reason for the delay is that the young Turks want to get maximum tickets over their senior leaders and central leadership under mission 44 is seeing on that line also. As per sources, Ashwani Sharma, MLA, Bishnah is likely to fight next elections on BJP ticket and there are several indicators to this. He has already refused offers of Congress and National Conference. Basically he is JSM (Jammu State Morcha) member. Another senior JSM leader Prof Virendra Gupta was seen at Lal Singh's residence, sources alleged. When this correspondent tried to contact the concerned MLA, his phone was out of reach. It is now the matter of time only to see what exactly happens after August 12 and BJP is the only party which has not announced a single candidate so far. |
