JAMMU, Aug 8: As the statistical figures of traffic vehicle accidents in our state is very high, an initiative to minimize the human related accidental deaths was taken up by District Police Doda under the supervision of SSP Doda M S Chouhan. The month of August was earmarked as the Traffic Action month under the title of 'August Mission 2014'. This mission was started on August 4 by District Police Doda and a massive drive was initiated against traffic violations. Public was made aware of their responsibilities regarding their safety through pamphlets regarding protocols of avoiding road traffic accidents which were distributed among the passengers. They were asked to call police if they see drivers violating the traffic laws. Drivers were asked to use seat belts and use of crash helmets was made an obligation for all the motorcycle riders. Public was made aware with regard to Drunken driving, careless driving, over speeding, overloading, intoxication, Lane driving, vehicle maintenance, wrong parking, overtaking at blind curves etc. Traffic awareness stickers were distributed to drivers for fixing them inside their vehicles. |
