Jammu, Aug 8: Surankote Bar Association on Friday staged protest against SSP Poonch, SHO Surankote for allegedly trying to forcibly entered into the house of Advocate Yasir Janjua at 2 AM at Lasana without any legal warrant. The protesting Bar Association members said that without any legal obligation Police have broken open the main gate but not succeeded.
"During morning, when he approached Police and asked the reasons for harassing and torturing family?. Police official reportedly asked him not to working under instructions and not to disclose about late night incident, otherwise he would be framed in false cases", the protesting advocate said.
The Bar Association unanimously decided to suspend court work and General Secretary Mukhtar Sheikh demanded immediate suspension of SHO Surankot. They also demanded to constitute SIT, to enquire about the entire episode and to expose the conspirators. Those who spoke on the occasion include Majad Khan, Mumtaz Shah, Ajaz Khan, Syed Naqvi beside others. |
