| PSA slappee absconder arrested, sent to Central Jail | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 8: An absconder was arrested by Narwal police led by SDPO East Rafiq Manhas in a raid here today.
As per police sources, on specific input, police conducted a raid and arrested him. He has been identified as Vipan Kumar Gupta son of Sat Paul Gupta, resident of ward no. 06 Bari Brahmna, a notorious criminal, drug peddler as well as facilitator of bovine Smuggling. He is involved in number of criminal cases.
He was later handed over to the Samba police for further action from where he was sent to Central Jail. When contacted SSP Samba Anil Magotra said that the accused has not only created multifarious law and order problems but is involved in disturbing peace and tranquillity in the area. He was also forming a gang of criminals, expanding it and became a role model for the youth who are interested in indulging in criminal activities and could go to any extent in order to spread their criminal activities.
Accordingly, in order to put an end to his activities, Samba Police compiled all the Police record of said Vipan Kumar Gupta @ Jhony from various Police Stations of District Samba and other Districts, prepared his dossier and got issued his warrant of Public Safety Act from District Magistrate, Samba to prevent him from indulging in prejudicial criminal activities.
After the issuance of detention warrant, the said Vipan Kumar Gupta was absconding to evade his arrest. Thereafter,a number of raids were conducted by the teams for his arrest but he keeps on changing his location after regular intervals for evading his arrest.
The officer further added that today, Bari-Brahmna Police, obtained custody of said Vipan Kumar Gupta @ Jhony S/O Shri Sat Paul Gupta R/O Ward No. 06 Bari Brahmna from Police Post Narwal where he was apprehended in another criminal activity and lodged in District Jail Jammu after execution of warrant under PSA. |
