Raksha Bandhan celebrated across Jammu

Jammu, Aug 8: Festival of Raksha Bandhan was today celebrated in various schools across Jammu province. Various functions were organized to mark the festival.
Co-operative Public School, Ambphalla organized competition of making of kites and rakhies. Over 100 students participated in the competition. On the eve of Raksha Bandan, young students will visit old age home at Ambphalla and will celebrate Raksha Bandan with them.
A prominent Social activist and Convener Human Right Civil Society, Ramesh Arora (Adv.) and Satish Verma who had reached the event venue, announced that the children who will secure top three position will be honored.
Headmistress of school Venu Magotra stated that such type of activities of social nature are being carried out by the school and appealed the parents to extend their full cooperation to their children in displaying their talent.
Moreover, to mark the celebration of Raksha Bandhan, a special assembly was organized where children presented beautiful skit and song, Sushant of class V spoke about the important of Raksha Bandhan, Poem by Ridhima mesmerized the students.
Raksha Bandhan making Activity was also held in school premises for all classes. Students of Jammu Sanskriti visited orphanage on 8th August 2014 & tied the Rakhies made by them to the children staying there. They shared the sweet & thoughts & Played games with each other.
In Kathua, the students of Mount Litera Zee school, Kathua celebrated the festival by visiting police academy Kathua.
The girls of senior classes tied holy thread on arms of Police personnel.
Moreover, a house-wise, Rakhi making competition was organized in the school campus. Every student participated and expressed the bonding between a brother and a sister.
RM Public School organized Rakhi making competition today. All the students of primary wing participated in it. The performance of the little ones was very appreciating as they displayed their talents in a very impressive manner by making beautiful coloured rakhi's which showed their bonding with their brothers and sisters.
The Principal Ravinder Kour lauded the efforts of the students whereas Vice-principal Shashi Jamwal and Meenakshi Sharma encouraged the participants.
In order to make the students understand the significance of Indian festivals, two functions were held in JK Public School, Kunjwani.
It began with rakhi making activity for the Toddlers' World. Teachers demonstrated the little ones how to perform arti with decorative thali and sang songs which added a unique flavour to this celebration. Later a cultural programme was presented by the students of senior wing. Students of junior wing danced on the tunes of "Phoon ka taroon ka sab ka kehna hai" and mesmerized everyone by their act.
The splendid performances were a perfect amalgamation of songs, dance and colourful dresses that gave a visual treat to everyone presented. The day was celebrated with fervor and gaiety.
Humming Buds, the Pre-School of Model Academy celebrated Raksha Bandhan at the B.C. Road and Residency Road branches with great joy and fervour. Little children showed great excitement participating in this beautiful festival, which signifies a sacred and unique bond of love between a brother and a sister. All the girls made bright rakhis with silver thread and sequins and tied this holy thread to the boys in the class who in turn gave them a small gift each. The boys enjoyed making kites and their faces lit up to see their kites fly high in the sky. The classrooms were brightly decorated with colourful dupattas and a temple was set up for puja. After the puja sweets were distributed to all the children. Kids sang a melodious song "Rakhi ka tyohar aaya…." prepared by Yash Sir and Amarjyot Mam. This was followed by a Thali making competition between the three levels and the class judged with the best rakhi thali was distributed sweets.
