Natrang stages Hindi play 'Uthal Puthal' | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 5: Natrang staged 'Uthal Puthal', a play in Hindi based on a Russian short story written by Anton Chekhov and directed by Neeraj Kant in its weekly Sunday Theatre Series. The play talked about self respect and dignity that's why appeared relevant in today's world also despite being written in different times in another country. The play 'Uthal Puthal' revolves around a young girl 'Malvika', who lives as a paying-guest in the house of one highly arrogant lady, Maya. One day she comes back home from college and finds find the house in turmoil. When she walks into her room, she finds her landlady rummaging through her things, all her stuff be it books, clothes, flowers or vase were scattered on the floor. Maya leaves in hurry and her friend tells Malvika that a very expensive brooch was lost and the ever suspicious and arrogant lady Maya is searching and screening each and every one to find that, even she was also embraced in the name of search. She has no regards for anyone's honesty and all are thieves in her eyes. 'Malvika' is very disturbed that the landlady would look through her things, obviously assuming her a thief. |
