No white flag; we will also fire
Tit for tat

JAMMU, Oct 5: Gone are the days when Pakistani butchers - Rangers and soldiers - would violate ceasefire and International Border, injure and kill our innocent civilians and jawans and go scot-free. Things have changed in India after the Congress-led UPA Government was booted out of power and a new government took over on May 26 this year. Now the Indian Army, Border Security Force and other forces charged with the responsibility of protecting borders enjoy full freedom to retaliate in the required manner in case the Pakistani forces violate the Line of Control and International Border. Tit for tat is the policy under the new regime.
"We have told them (Pakistani Rangers) in the morning (during patrolling) don't fire as it is not good for general public of both the sides," told Inspector General (IG) BSF, Jammu Frontier, Rakesh Sharma, to a wire agency on October 4, and added that "Pakistan has habit of firing on IB and LoC without any rhyme and reason". "Why are you (Pakistani Rangers) firing? If you fire, we will also fire," he also informed". IG Sharma informed that the BSF told the Pakistani Rangers to behave failing which the BSF will respond appropriately.
The BSF took this stand following the unprovoked shelling from across e border on the night of October 2 and 3 in Pargwal and Arnia forward belts of Jammu district resulting in injuries to 2 people. Besides, the Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked firing and shelling mortar bombs along the Line of Control in Sabjian forward belt in Poonch district in which one girl was killed and 10 others injured.
It is heartening to note that the Indian Army and BSF have been given a freehand to deal with the situation in the manner they deemed fit.
Earlier, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh had also warned Pakistan that India would be left with no other option but to retaliate in case it failed to respect the LoC and IB. "I have asked the BSF DG to tell his force to give a befitting reply to firing from Pakistan" and he has disclosed this while addressing BJP's "Vijay Sankalp Yatra" at Hathin in Haryana's Palwal district.
However, his most significant his statement was to the effect that "I told the BSF DG that if Pakistan does not desist and keeps going on with its violations, give straight orders (to the BSF troops) that next time while flag will not be shown, but firing will be started (from the Indian side)". "We are not weak, we have full capability to give a befitting reply" was the upshot of his whole formulation. Indeed, it has become imperative to teach Pakistan a lesson. It has caused enough of damage to India and now is the time to put Islamabad in a place it deserved.
