Anti Pollution Movement warns of staging protest | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Oct 5: Alleging district administration of turning Nelson's eye towards the pollution hazard Sardar Mohinder Singh, President of Anti Pollution Movement has said that the violation of environment related regulations is going on unabated in the industrial area. Moreover, the administration not paying heed to their demands already put forth. He was as addressing the monthly meeting of the activists of Anti Pollution Movement, here today. Expressing his views to the media persons' he said that more than two dozen red and orange category industrial units have been pollution the atmosphere for the last many years, but authorities concerned have reportedly, deliberately turned a Nelson's eye towards this grave issue.He further added that last month they had a meeting with DDC Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary in his chamber and has apprised him regarding the demand of curbing the pollution menace, to take action against the encroachers' who are interrupting the development work of sewerage and to initiate the movement of Jammu-Kathua buses through Hatli Morh. "This was not the first time that the organization apprised administration regarding the demands. Before, the joining of Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary they appealed previous DDC also but all in vain", he miffed. Despite repeated appraisal to concerned quarters, "It seems that there is hidden nexus between district administration Kathua and industrial unit owners, which has given unbridled powers to these owners to violate all laws with impunity", he rued. The members of the movement passed a resolution during the meeting that if administration fails to meet their demands until October 10, they would be compelled to block National Highway next morning. Kulwant Singh Khajuria, I D Khajuria, Ashfaq Chouhan, Naresh Kumar, Kewal Kumar, Devinder Singh, Tarsem lal and others were present during the meeting. |
