Sixth standard student beaten blue and black for poor handwriting | Teachers turn savages! | | Rajouri, Oct 5: On the complaint of the parents of 6th class student , Darhal police have booked a teacher for beating a student with hard iron wire. Teacher is reported to have turned savage due to poor handwriting of the taught.Police sources said that Mohd Ashaq resident of Sagrawat (Darhal) approached the police on Saturday complaining that his son Muzzafar Ahmed student of 6th class in Shere i-Kashmir Higher secondary school was severely beaten up by the teacher identified as Mohd Aurangzeb and was admitted in the hospital. After completing legal formalities police visited the hospital , recorded the statement of the student and conducted medical check-up of the student. Police have registered a case against the teacher who was not traceable till the filing of this report.Corporal punishment in the schools is punishable offence and if proved, action under law is likely to be taken against the said teacher, said a police officer. Pertinent to mention that on September 18 a 11th class student Gurdeep Singh was severely beaten up by his teacher Rahil Parvez for remaining absent without permission.Gurdeep received injury in the eye and was admitted in the Eye Unit at government medical college (GMC) hospital at Jammu .The teacher , who was on adhoc arrangement was later disengaged from service and was booked by the police on the recommendation of Chief Education Officer. |
