LeT recruitment module busted, 8 arrested

BARAMULLA, Oct 26: Jammu and Kashmir police with the help of 30 Rashtriya Rifle busted a recruitment module of terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba, averting a major terror plan of the terrorists in Sopore area of Baramulla district in north Kashmir on Sunday.
According to senior police official that a major terrorist plan was diverted when Jammu and Kashmir police with the help of Army's 30 Rashtriya Rifle (RR) arrested eight member of the terror module from different parts of Sopore and its adjoining areas in Baramulla district.
The local boys were recruited into the Lashkar-e- Toiba outfit network who were bent upon executing various terrorists' actions in and around Sopore, in criminal conspiracy with one foreign terrorist of LeT outfit namely Umer Khitab of Pakistan, who was operating from Sopore, official said.
He said that Khitab has been taking directions from Hanzulla Resident of Pakistan. After being indoctrinated with Jihadi ideology, the group members had formally joined LeT outfit and were provided the communication gadgets and weapons for further actions.
"Before being included into the organization the members of the module have been assigned with various tasks of couriering the weapons and money, identifying the targets and security installations and arranging communications devices he meintianed.
Some of the members of the groups were preparing to visit Pakistan on illegal documents to get further training of arms and ammunition in other illegal activities.
Early Times has learnt that the eight member of module were identified as Shabir Ahmad kumar S/O Habibullha Kumar of Sopore, Sijad Bhat S/O Ghulam Mohammad Bhat R/R Sopore, Rayees Ahmad Bhat S/O Mohammad Ramzan Bhat of Sopore, Lateef Ahmad Gujjar S/O Noor Ud -Din Gujar R/O Zaloora Sopore, Zubair Ahmad Gujar S/O Mohammad Yousaf Gujar R/O Zaloora, Mohammad Qasim S/O Mohammad Israyeel Gujar R/O Zaloora, Mohammad Iqbal Gujar S/O Mohammad Israyeel Gujar R/O Gujarpati Zaloora, Hakim Din Gujar S/O Mohammad Gujar R/O Zaloora Sopore.
However Jammu and Kashmir Police has also made some recoveries from the spot like UBGL 08, Chinese grenade 05, AK-47 rounds 100.
According to police, "during investigation it was found that, the module was being commanded by foreign militant, Umer Khitab of Pakistan who is operating under the direct command of Hanzullaha of Pakistan.
Facing dearth of foreign militant, the LeT is desperate to recruit the local youth of Kashmir by indoctrinating them with different ideologies official said.
