| Congress deliberates over candidates, Soz unlikely to contest | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Oct 26 : The state Congress is issuing the list of its party candidates within a couple of days, with the party leadership still deliberating upon some constituencies of Kashmir valley.
Sources within the state Congress said that the party chief Saif-ud-din Soz is likely not to contest the coming elections with leader taking the responsibility of looking after the party affairs. However, his son, a US return Salman Anees Soz has been given mandate from north Kashmir's Baramula constituency. Salman will contest from this turf against other parties with his competition being believed to be against the PDP's nominated candidate. PDP's Muzaffar Hussain Beigh had swept the Baramulla Lok Sabha turf in the past and the party's strong hold in the area has made other political players to speed up their activities.
Usmaan Majeed will contest from Bandipora constituency of north Kashmir. Bashir Magray has been given ticket from South Kashmir's Pulwama area while as Zadibal has been accorded to Shameema Raina.
Party veteran Khemlata Wakhlu will contest from Sonawar area of Srinagar and from Eidgah it is Imtiyaz Hassan who has been given the mandate for the constituency.
Sources also stated that the party is all set to raise the slogan of unemployment in its poll rallies besides the development in all the three regions of Jammu and Kashmir. The party will also sharp its knives against its coalition partner over the daily wagers issue and unfilled posts in the state.
