Another jolt to Pradesh Congress | Mangat Ram Sharma along with son Subash, supporters join PDP | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 26: In yet another jolt to Pradesh Congress, Mangat Ram Sharma, Former Deputy Chief Minister of the State along with his son and supporters today joined Peoples Democratic Party in an official function of the party. Addressing a function to welcome veteran Congress leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Mangat Ram Sharma who joined PDP along with his elder son Subash Sharma, Mufti said that it was matter of satisfaction that PDP, in a short span of time, has emerged as strong political force in the state as well as a credible voice of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He expressed satisfaction that PDP's agenda of the peace and development was now seen positively not just in Kashmir valley but in Jammu and Ladakh regions, as well where also it was welcomed as a serious statewide political force with credibility and established credentials in governance and political acumen. Mufti said that joining a political stalwart like Pandit Mangat Ram Sharma was a clear indication said that after Kashmir Valley, people of Jammu and Ladakh were also treating PDP as their real voice because leadership of this party has earned credibility of people by its convictions and commitments. Terming joining of Mangat Ram Sharma as big boost for the party, Mufti said that he has long association with Mangat Ram Sharma. "We were colleagues in the government of Mir Qasim and we worked in the previous PDP-Congress government", he said and hoped that with his joining PDP would be further strengthened in the State. Sr Leader S Rangil Singh, Ved Mahajan, Ch Hamid, Asrhad Malik, Guru Prasad, S Surender Singh, Vinod Gupta, Rajeev gupta, Devender Chalotra and others were present on the occasion. |
