Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 26 : The JKNPP on Sunday alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent visit to Srinagar to celebrate Diwali with the flood-hit people of Kashmir was aimed at "reaching a secret bargain" with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah."The Prime Minister bargained with Omar Abdullah, allowing him (PM) to misuse all the relief money and material for the election campaign and in return the chief minister would be allowed to continue the loot in the state" Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party chief Prof Bhim Singh told reporters here today.
"The visit was part of a secret bargaining deal, the Prime Minister went to motivate chief minister Omar Abdullah regarding holding of assembly elections in the state" he said.Singh alleged that in Srinagar Prime Minister interacted with only "selected few" residents of the city.
"He met only 50 selected and privileged residents of Srinagar and so called political delegations managed by the Home Ministry" Singh said.
He said that no criteria was adopted while selecting the leaders of the political parties who met the PM in Srinagar.
"The Prime Minister had his exclusive meetings with the Chief Minister as well as the leaders of PDP," Singh said.An impression was created that Prime Minister has accepted Chief Minister's demand to put in some money in CM's Relief Fund, the JKNPP chief said. "This relief and rehabilitation material should have gone to State Disaster Relief Fund (SDRF) through the National Disaster Relief Fund (NDRF). The Prime Minister has betrayed the people of the state by refusing to declare the floods as National Disaster," Singh said.
He said that not declaring the recent floods as a National Disaster would amount to "discrimination" with the residents of Jammu region."The people of Jammu voted for them (BJP) and Prime Minister has betrayed the people of Jammu," he said.
