Early Times Report

SRINAGAR, Nov 3: The national Conference led coalition government ditched at last 60,000 casual labourers in the name of regularization.
To gain public support after a complete rout in parliamentary polls, the NC government announced fabricated measures to fulfill the demands of these daily wagers to regularize them and hard-pressed the issue till the moral code of conduct came into force, thus playing with the emotions of these hard working employees. There is colossal anger among the casual laborers and daily wagers who were hopeful to get regularized but now there are minimal chances to get them adjusted in different state departments.
"We are working hard on meager amounts of money day and night but the government is not serious about us. The decisions of this government are really intolerable and condemnable. They have played with our emotions and now we have been left to God's mercy," said Mohammad Rafiq, a daily wager with PHE department.
The employees accuse that the state government had announced the decision just to gain vote bank but now their actions have been completely exposed.
"They had announced to regularize employees merely to gain votes in the upcoming elections but now they have dug a grave for themselves, this government has cheated everyone and they will face a loss in the upcoming elections," said a group of agitating Casual laborers.
As the government has been indignant towards these Daily wagers, many among such employees have decided to run a campaign against the National conference government.
A few days back Jammu and Kashmir Casual Daily wagers Forum declared to run an anti-government campaign to expose the wrong doings of the NC government. While addressing a media conference in Srinagar on 28 October 2014, the forum president Sajad Ahmad Parray declared that the forum will bounce back with great force.
Till date a huge politics was played on the issue of regularization of daily wagers and casual laborers, while the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was said to be positive over the resolution of the issue, several ministers of the cabinet delayed the regularization as they wanted their own men absorbed ahead of deserving daily wagers.
This was clear when Congress minister Sham Lal Sharma, resigned from the council of ministers and alleged that Finance Minister Abdul Rahim Rather delayed the regularization of daily wagers and some of the cabinet ministers wanted their own men in the list.
Pertinently the state government had hinted in June 2014 that it is all set to regularize the services of around 40,000 daily-wagers working in different departments. The government had asked the various departments to submit the information of the daily-wagers till June 30. The state finance department had cleared 56213 cases against the total number of 59594 cases.
