Srinagar, Nov 3: Seventy-two schools reopened after devastating floods in Kashmir Valley have been found unsafe hygienically for students. This is besides 275 schools declared unsafe hygienically earlier by the department, Director Health Services Kashmir Saleem-ur-Rehman said in a fresh status report filed before Jammu and Kashmir High Court. As per the report by BMO, the Director said Chadoora, out of 5 schools visited in the block 2 schools have been found in unhygienic condition. In block Soibugh Budgam, all 12 schools visited have been found hygienically fit. In Magam block, he said, all 24 schools visited were also found hygienically safe. In block Bijbhera Anantnag, out of 73 schools visited, the hygienic condition of 33 schools have been found poor, he said. In block Achabal out of 37 schools visited, 20 have been found hygienically poor while Mattan, 41 schools have been found in good hygienic condition. "In Baramulla, as per CMO 1932 educational institutes have been inspected and all have been found hygienically safe." In Srinagar, the Director said that 24 more schools have been visited and 16 were found hygienically unfit. "This is besides Usmania School Dhobi Mohalla which was found hygienically unsafe," the Director said. According to a previous report filed by health report, 91 schools in Kulgam, 52 in Pulwama, 33 in Anantnag, 12 in Shopian, 50 in Srinagar, 17 in Budgam and 20 in Bandipora district have been found unfit hygienically for the students to study. |
