ECI announces elections soon after floods just to benefit BJP: SP | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 3: Asserting that announcement of election during winter and that too after devastating floods is nothing but injustice to the electorate of state, State president Sheikh Abdul Rehman Ex MP, alleged that Election Commission of India has announced election to benefit Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP). After touring Kashmir valley, Chennab region and other regions of the state, State president Sheikh Abdul Rehman Ex MP here today in a press conference said that two candidates namely Amrit Varsha and Er Sheikh Mohd Shafi has already filled nomination papers from Ramban and Bhaderwah assembly constituency respectively. He also informed that Samajwadi Party (SP) has decided to contest about one dozen assembly seats in current assembly election in J&K State. State president Samajwadi Party leader also said that announcement of election at this stage of winter and after devastating floods is nothing but injustice to the electorate and is against basic spirit of democracy. "These elections will add one more election to the list of unfair election, as the issue has already been raised question a mark about urgency of election when priority of the Govt should be providing relief to flood effected people, said Rehman while adding, "Election Commission of India has announced election to benefit BJP." Sheikh Abdul Rehman also said that instead of winning seats PDP and NC are busy in slicing votes of this each other and covertly are helping BJP that may help BJP to increase its tally from previous mark of 11. Rehman reiterated that benefits of Article 370 should be extended, decentralisation of power through elected representatives'. He also reassured that Smajwadi party is committed to Regional Development Council for all regions of state and Hill Development Council for Chennab region. He also said his party is committed to fight against poverty, unemployment, communalism, corruption etc. His party is also committed to promote communal harmony and unity among all regions of state and will strive hard to strengthen the seven parties alliance called as People United Front. |
