Gadkari announces two new projects for JK
Is it a violation of MCC ?

Jammu, Dec 2: The announcement of union minister for Surface transport, Nitin Gadkari announcing two projects for Jammu Kashmir have triggered discussions. Is this a violation of Model Code of Conduct (MCC) .
Political leaders irrespective of party lines have termed the announcement made by Union minister as violation of MCC.
Pertinently, few days back during his visit to Jammu, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari , while speaking in a seminar on 'Road Map and Prosperity' organized by State unit of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP), had announced two major projects worth Rs. 23000 Crores in state for road connectivity and construction of tunnel.
Moreover, the Union Minister had not stopped there, he had also announced two dry ports and underground parking either in Jammu or Kashmir, while sharing dice with party leaders of the state BJP unit, Ashok Khajuria and State spokesperson Sunil Sethi.
Political Pandits have criticized the recent announcements made by Nitin Gadkari, and they have been seeing the announcements through the prism of wooing voters.
"Lambasting on BJP strategy to achieve 44+ they said that one hand, the BJP has been compromised with the demand of One Vidan, One Nissan and One Pardhan, or revocation of Article 370 and other side to win the voters its leaders have been making eloquent speeches and have been making announcements in clear violation of MCC", they said.
While talking to Early Times, People Democratic Party (PDP) spokesperson Neem Akthar condemned the statement of Nitin Gadkari regarding construction of two dry ports and termed it a clear violation of MCC.
Senior leader of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Tulsi Dass Langey has also criticized the announcement and said that they would file a case before Election Commission of India against Union Minister Nitin Gadkari for violating MCC.
