Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 2: Congress candidate from Jammu West Constituency Surinder Singh Shingari accompanied with large number of his supporters today filed his nomination papers. After filing the nomination papers, Shingari said, "I am contesting this election to serve my people and to oppose the election tactics of BJP to propagate free India as a defunct country for electoral gains." Taking dig upon Bharatiya Janata Party, he said that Bharatiya Janata Party is taking credits of all developmental project launched by previous UPA Government. Citing examples he said, "Railway project to Katra was completed by Congress government and Mr Modi merely cut the ribbon. "Mangalyaan project was completed in Congress rule, he added. "We see, railways, metro railways, roads, hospitals, universities, professional colleges, but still BJP says congress did nothing" Shingari added. "BJP leadership is not insulting Congress but insulting 65 years old free India, he said. Shingari in the end thanked the police and traffic administration for smooth movement of rally and traffic as well. Prominent Congress leaders and workers who accompanied the Congress candidate from Jammu (W) included Shahnawaz Choudhary, State president youth congress, Tamana (State chief Seva Dal), Anil Chopra DCC president along with DCC committee members and various block presidents & ward presidents of various committees, state president NSUI along with NSUI state committee. |
