SRINAGAR, Dec 2 : In continuation to the special drive with regard to post flood inspections a team of Drug Inspectors headed by Assistant Drug Controller Srinagar - Mr. M. Yunis conducted inspections of drug sale establishments on December 01, 2014. The inspections were conducted in various areas of Srinagar District viz Soura, Zaldagar, Batmaloo & Budshah Chowk. During the inspections licenses of three medical shops were suspended for a period of three to six days for selling/exhibiting for sale flood affected medicines & contravening other provisions of the Drugs & Cosmetics Act 1940. The medical shops whose licenses were suspended including M/s Shifa Medicate Zaldagar (Qualified Person Absent), M/s Aay Bee Medicate Batmaloo (for flood affected medicine) and M/s K.A Medical Store Jahangir Chowk (for flood affected medicine). Moreover, a team of Drug Control Officers headed by Assistant Drug Controller Anantnag/Kulgam, M. Iqbal Pala conducted inspections of more than 100 drug sale establishments in various areas of Anantnag & Kulgam districts during the last two weeks. The Licenses of ten medical shops were suspended for varying time period depending upon the severity of contravention. The licenses suspended including M/s Al Noor Medicate T.B Shah Anantnag, M/s Bhat Medical Store Zaddar Anantnag, M/s Manzoor Pharmacy Furrah Anantnag, M/s Mamoon Medical Store Zirpora Bijbehara, M/s Shah Drug Store Waghama Anantnag, M/s Bhat Medical Store Srandoo Kulgam, M/s Irfan Medical Store Qaimoh Kulgam, M/s Mir Drug Store Opp. Dist. Hospital Kulgam, M/s Qatib Medical Store Manzgam Kulgam and M/s Mubarak Medical Store Chuglipora Kulgam. The stakeholders are once again impressed upon that not to indulge in sale of flood affected medicine and adhere to the provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act 1940 and Rules thereunder. The drive shall continue and the defaulters /contraveners shall be dealt with strictly. The consumers are requested to share their valuable inputs with the concerned authorities regarding sale of flood affected medicine if found. |
