Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 16: Aggrieved over the failure of Jammu University (JU) administration in providing facilities to scholars and students, and boarders of various hostels, National Secular Forum (NSF) today staged protest against Varsity authorities and alleged them of adopting insincere attitude towards the students' miseries.
Scores of NSF protesters led by its University Unit President NSF, Qayoom Malik assembled near Fountain plaza and staged high pitch demonstration raising slogans against the Vice Chancellor for his failure in restoring Wi-Fi connectivity in student hostels.
Qayoom told media persons that despite repeated pleas made by NSF to the University Authorities apprising them about the miseries being faced by the scholars, nothing has been done to redress the same so far. "The only generator for all the three Girls hostels is lying defunct for months now, but the University authorities are least concerned about this issue which is matter of great distress on the part of students" he added.
He said that scholars pay huge revenue to the University, but when it comes to deliver back to the students, the authorities illustrate weird example, as the condition of the all six hostels in university campus was just not affordable, it needs immediate repairing in many segments in general and Toilets in particular but the authorities have turned nelson eye toward this issue.
Alleging the Vice Chancellor and University administration of being misleading the society by organizing dear event "Udghosh-2015" and naming it as Youth festival, but the fact is Scholars and Students in Jammu University are not allowed to attend this event and permission to them was not granted by the administration, meanwhile the administration have imposed unwanted vacation to the students to keep them away from this event.
"The University authorities in a wicked manner have named it as "Youth Festival" to mislead the society as the fact behind the veil is something totally different to this and has nothing to do with the youth. It is an irrelevant event aimed to settle personnel scores, personnel dignitaries are being invited to this event on the cost of University exchequer", he alleged while adding that money collected by students on the name of various funds is being used by authorities for personnel entertainment which is not acceptable at all.
They appealed to the Governor N N Vohra, the Chancellor University of Jammu to take cognizance of the matter, which smells huge bungling of funds meant for Students welfare. Ajaz Shah, PP Singh, Zulfi Singh, Amit Sanotra, Rishikesh Rana, Javed Iqbal, Varun, Anees Charak, Narinder Singh, Sanjeev Kumar and Bhupinder Singh were also present on the occasion.
